Professional Win on the Road Secures Place in 3rd Round Proper

Liverpool Feds sank South Shields FC in the second round of the FA Cup, with a professional win at the First Cloud Arena.

The visitors started off strong creating several chances that finished wide, while the only threatening occasion was after 13 minutes as South Shields no 9 rattled the crossbar from 30 yards out.

It was all square at the break, however the music changed in the second half as the Feds dominance was rewarded thanks to Deering shortly after the break. Anderson found Smith down the left, who took her time before picking out Deering on the penalty spots, who fired home.

In the 52nd minute Francis doubled the lead as she found herself half a yard out on the left and fired over the keeper from just inside the 18-yard box. Shortly afterwards, Collins increased Feds advantage as she fired it high past the keeper.

The visitors kept improving their performance with Kinvig-Wardale sealing the deal as the keeper fumbled, on a previous attempt from Johnson, into her path and she fired into the empty net.

It was a welcome return for out no 7 after 8 weeks out through injury. Shortly after entering the pitch, Fletcher with some great work down the right-hand side delivered a pinpoint driven cross and Willis slid in scoring the fifth goal for the away side with her first touch of the game.

Feds kept managing the game and a whipped Boydell corner was met by Johnson burying her back post header. Willis capitalised on a poor goal kick and did all the work herself before chipping beyond the on rushing keeper, scoring her second goal.

Anderson started off her personal show scoring twice within two minutes. The first goal came after she fired it home from the edge of the area and the second one came as she was found in behind and lifted it over the keeper.

In the closing stage of the game the visitors added two to the score line first with Boydell as she fired home her first goal for the club from 20 yards, then Anderson completed her hat-trick, poking home a Fletcher cross into the box.

Liverpool Feds turn now their attention to their next FA Cup fixture at home on the 8th December, as they welcome Sheffield United in the 3rd Round Proper.
