FIXTURE PREVIEW: LIVERPOOL FEDS v HUDDERSFIELD TOWN (HOME)

Wednesday 28th October at 7.45pm, we are back at Walton Hall Park under the lights for our next league instalment. We welcome Huddersfield Town to L4.

Our last league outing saw Feds return to winning ways with a 2-0 victory away to Loughborough Lightning. Henna Butcher opened the scoring after just two minutes, closing down the goalkeeper and blocking her attempted clearance before tapping the ball into an empty net.

We continued to create chances, with Jessica Brady doubling our lead midway through the first half after a well-timed pass from Wilson. Brady came close to adding a third before the break.

Lightning applied more pressure after half-time, but the Feds defended resolutely to protect their lead and secure that all important clean sheet. A strong performance across the pitch earned us those much-needed three points on the road.

After eight games, the Feds sit fifth in the table on 12 points, level with Derby County and Peterborough United. All three sides have won four and lost four, with no draws between them; the Feds lead the trio on goal difference. Huddersfield arrive in third place on 17 points, just one behind West Brom in second and four adrift of league leaders Rugby Borough.

Seren Carrington picked up Player of The Match, sponsored by Inspired Team Wear Solutions.

Come down and get behind the Feds on Wednesday as they look to build on their Loughborough win and take on one of the league’s top sides.

THE OPPOSITION – Huddersfield Town Women FC

Huddersfield Town Women secured promotion to the Northern Premier Division last season, winning both the league title and county cup. The modern-day club was formed in 1988, and in summer 2025 the first team was formally incorporated into Huddersfield Town’s wider club structure, following several years of sharing its name, badge and identity. The move brought the team further support and a stronger connection with the wider club as they stepped up to the third tier.

The Terriers have adapted well to the higher division, with their attacking options proving particularly important. Laura Elford has been one of their key players, scoring twice in the recent 3–1 victory over Middlesbrough to take her tally to nine goals in ten appearances across all competitions. Her ability to finish chances inside the box makes her a player for the Feds’ defence to keep a close eye on.

Louise Biggins has also made an impact, scoring from the penalty spot in the 3–2 defeat to Peterborough United before coming off the bench to help turn around a difficult game against Hull City earlier in the season. Tamira Livingston is another threat, having scored in the Middlesbrough win. Liverpool loanee Lois Cartmell made her full debut against Boro after joining Huddersfield in the wake of Aimee Kelly’s knee injury, adding another attacking option to the Terriers’ squad.

Huddersfield’s season has not been without setbacks. After starting their league campaign unbeaten, they suffered their first defeat at Peterborough, where a second-half fightback through penalties from Elford and Biggins was not enough to recover from a three-goal deficit.
