Fed show courage and strengths to improve despite a 4-0 defeat against Nottingham Forrest

The encounter started off with an early opening for Nottingham Forest, but nothing dangerous as Parry did well to put pressure on Mel Johnson and the ball was easily claimed by Doran.
Feds responded shortly afterwards as Thompson, after a brilliant turn in the middle of the pitch, released Fletcher who opted for an early cross, but it was cleared from danger by Hamilton.
The visitors made themselves dangerous again, coming close to take the lead, as Parry and Willis combined on the right before releasing Francis, with her driven cross nearly turned into her own net by a Forest player at the back post.
The away side continued to build up in their quest for the lead, as Francis drove down the right and released another dangerous delivery, but there was no Feds player there to strike on goal.
After almost half hour into the game, the hosts started to put Feds under pressure, however the away side defended back-to-back corner well, as some big headers from Thompson and Johnson cleared the danger.
As halftime approached, Forest was awarded a soft penalty and Wellings converted, sending Doran the wrong way and slotted it home.
The pressure continued for the Feds as a whipped cross from the left by Willis was turned towards goal by a Forest player, with the away keeper doing well to adjust and gather low to her right. Soon later, straight up the other end Doran got down well to save a powerful shot from Wellings, parrying out for a corner.
In the closing stages of the first half, a free kick effort was saved, Chandarana fired it home from a tight angle, leaving the Feds two down at the break.
The second half started with Forrest increasing their lead again as following the ball being cleared off the line, it fell to Johnson who hammered it home.
Despite being down, the Feds were still alive in the game as Thompson pressed high and forced a mistake. Willis couldn’t get the ball out of her feet for a strike, but Deering was able to find half a yard, with the attempt finishing over.
The away outfit kept creating opportunities to close the gap with another strike from distance by Parry, but it skidded wide.
Substitute Cole made an immediate impact for the Feds, as she burst down the right and won a corner. The resulting corner was cleared before a dinked Parry delivery founded Anderson in behind. Her touch was just too heavy, and it allowed the Forest keeper to claim.
In the closing stages of the clash, Nottingham Forrest sealed the deal with Johnson’s first touch bringing a high ball down to set herself to shoot past Doran’s goal, the Feds players appealed for a dangerous high foot from the forward but the goal stood.
Liverpool Feds fell to defeat on the road but with a lot of positive aspects to bring into their next clash on Wednesday against Burnley.
